finally.
i bought something for myself.
two things actually.
a pair of etienne aigner 100% cashmere leather gloves for $30, which is a very good brand here in canada according to a friend of mine scratch that, i researched it online and apparently its a very old reputable brand for old ladies.
whatever, its warm inside and cashmere. thats all i really care about anyways. as long as it doesn't make my hands look butt ugly.
and drumroll please....
a $130 winter coat.
i'm going to call my dad and let him know. i did ask if i can buy a coat before, but he said it was up to me, and it was more expensive than this one. so it should be ok. if not though, i'm going to have to return it.
but i love it so much :( hopefully it doesn't happen.
its really the first big clothing item i have ever bought with my own (well my parents, but on my own) money, and i'm afraid that i might have failed in getting a good item/deal/value.
please please please parents, for once, and maybe for the rest of my life, let me be a girl :/
tell me what you think of it :D
so i had some of the best prime rib i have ever had in a very long time at this one steakhouse called The Keg.
and really, perfect creme brulee.
and then i had truly the worst boba milk tea i have ever had in my entire life in chinatown.
damn that shit was bad. i only finished it because it cost me $3.50 and the boba still resembled and had the same consistency of real boba. maybe thats another thing i should try to do before i go back home. find a decent milk tea shop in chinatown.
a bunch of leering old men in on the street on the way to the metro.
and then got onto a bus with a crazy drunk mad man, who was cussing like crazy at this guy sitting next to him,
threatening him and everything. the bus driver called the cops, and didn't let anyone else onto the bus until the man left and everything was ok.
and then got a pack of 20 shin ramen for $14.50.
score! my food supply for the next couple of weeks or so :/
i want freedom to buy things outside of food.
like maybe one tshirt
or one coat
or a guitar :D (is that too much to wish for?)
hopefully my parents will be understanding.
i do intend on paying everything back to them after i get out of college and make enough money to afford it.
i am going to see stars nov 28 with jack (my concert watching buddy)
i signed up for pop montreal volunteers in hopes that i'll get into the best concerts. and i'll at least get a free t shirt.
i have just discovered my love of thrift stores.
i mean, where else can you get a TY special edition teddy bear, a scarf, gloves, a wall painting and decorative masks for only $12?
winter is coming. as i type this, my fingers are stiff and i have to flex my fingers every so often to get them moving.
and i have barely typed a paragraph.
i finally received mail today for the first time since i moved in!!
its such a wonderful feeling, holding that package in your hand, tearing through the orange envelope and holding a little piece of home in your hands.
and even though letters are old school, they're really the best. i would much rather get a letter in the mail than an email. :D
snail mail forever :D:D
i think i've got almost only a month left to leave.
so i've really got to start packing.
and i got my lappy!! even though my aunt has had it for almost a year already, she rarely used it and its BEAUTIFUL
i got a double room so i have to room with someone. i'm praying and wishing and hoping i don't get some weed/marijuana smoking, heroin/ecstasy shooting, smelly, dirty, thieving slut who'll have sex with all her boyfriends every night while i'm trying to study for an exam right across the room. please please please.
so mt sac is like high school all over again. if i had a choice, i would NEVER choose to go there for all my 4 years of college. i mean, i graduated from high school to get away from all that crap. ugh.
on the upside, amy mungia (i don't know if thats how you spell her name), is there, and i made friends with two sophomores in college, one goes to university of la verne, and the other goes to this private in atlanta. the ulv one is hilarious, shes got this demeanor like "who gives a crap/don't mess with me/f this" attitude that is hilarious. the atlanta one is this black girl who goes into those "blackitude" modes out of nowhere. its great :D
apparently though, when they first saw me, they thought i was intimidating.
i'm at my aunt's house right now in alhambra (i should have said that in the beginning :/), waiting for my aunt and cousins from taiwan to arrive. when they come, we're going to drink and feast (well the adults will do the drinking). so i probably won't be too free until they leave, but i'm going to try and fit stuff in where i can :D
yes, im putting down things i want, just so that i have a place to refer to, make it more realizable (is that a word?).
this is for my parents actually, so DON'T GET ME ANYTHING FROM THIS LIST!

heres my if-i-could-get-anything-i-wanted wishlist:
I finally went to my first football game on Friday, Ayala's Homecoming game and for once we actually kicked the other team's @$$!!! It was really kinda cool, cheering on our football team and going crazy when they got a fumble or a touchdown.
and guess what?
out of all the people nominated for homecoming king and queen, vince and whitney miner end up winning. of which i'm very happy for whitney and vince, but it was fkn hilarious/crazy. i really wanted kt and tyler to win, but they'll probably win next next time (me and ryan are going to win winter formal or prom SUCKASS!!:D:D:D)
and heres some more car stuff.
so i've been looking into a saab for the past couple of weeks and found a couple of good ones that my parents might go for, but instead, my mom wants to fix up my "baby" the red mercedes convertible in my driveway instead so that i can drive it. FK YES!!!!!! even better!!! the first things thats going to get fixed is going to be the air con so i can atleast start driving it. then i have a whole list of stuff that i want to restore on that car so it looks brand new :D its like my first project car! kinda, except i'm not paying for it/all of it/some of it. it needs a new paint job, reupholstered interior, window sealant, radio and a couple more things, but those are the biggies. but probably the biggest obstacle is that my dad isn't too eager to let me drive it because its a convertible (hardtop) and its "less safe" than the Wagon that i drive to school right now. hmph.
i've been sleepy all week last week during school, and i literally almost fell asleep in almost every class of every day, which is NOT NORMAL! i've never been this tired before in my life. maybe because it was a combination between my cold, my period, and me getting only 6 hours of sleep a night, but its really making me realize that i have to get my act together, grades, sleep, schedule, everything, my life, before i apply for colleges so that my first semester grades will be the best i can make them.
and then you know what else? my mom suggested me to apply to a school in europe. i mean, i would love to do that, but i just thought that it would be TONS more expensive going to school abroad in europe than like in canada or the U.S. but my mom said so, so i guess i need to start looking for some european schools as well as candian schools...
I just found out when the new Zune 2 will be coming out and it looks fkn better/awesome than the 1st generation. it has an 80 gb hard drive, a more intuitive finger pad thing, great resolution, 3.2 inch screen, wifi syncing capabilities, and a
totally revamped minimialistic software design for only $250 bucks. you really can't get any better than that. im not an ipod hater, they are the innovators in software and music players (pretty brilliant stuff) but its time for a new rising champ to take the top spot! :D i mean, zune is the number 1 amazon top selling product (finally).so even though i have the old one now, since i have a 2 year warranty, i'm just going to have it "accidentally" break, and get the new one when it comes out. and then buy another warranty on that one :D:D
and my tutoring today was super good. she finally got stuff near the end (well, kinda sorta, more than last time and she didn't fall asleep either! YAY!) and i'm hoping that she gets a B on her next test, i'm rooting for her!
NEW ZUNE FOR ME IN A 2 MONTHS OR SO BITCHES!!!!!!!! >:]'
I found out last night that the kind of pay im getting to tutor is pretty close to extortion, and according to my mom, im quoting this, "That's the rate pimps pay their prostitutes. Pimps get 70% and the prostitutes get the other 30%"
and apparently, the term of the contract i signed is about 3 times the usual length of contracts out in the "real world". the tutoring company had me sign a contract saying that i would not tutor anyone for money (if i quit) for 18 months after i get hired (or fired) something like that. my parents were pretty pissed and told me all about how i 'm not legally bound to that contract because im not 18 yet, i wasn't 18 when i signed it , so i can basically do whatever the h i want.
today, i asked whitney, she tutors for her too, and she confirmed my/my parents' suspicions. she got pretty irked too, and i said "My parents want to shut her down. They said that she is basically cheating us out of our money/labor"
Whitney then said "We should all do something about it!"
if we ended up shutting down her company/service though, a bunch of people i know would lose their tutoring jobs, but then since they arent legally bound by the contract, they could all just keep the current students they have now and charge them less (competitive rate like $20 or something) and they could pocket the whole thing for themselves. its basically like stealing their customers, but maybe its payback time....
but im going to bide my time and not say anymore about it until i quit. then im going to say whatever the h i want, that way i dont ruin my work experience rep or whatever. and i just love the new students im tutoring, and i dont want to stop tutoring. this new girl im tutoring, i went to her house today, is another sophomore and she's pretty cool. i think i crapped it up though again, because there wasn't much to tutor on and i kinda talked to her more about the PSATs, college, and homecoming. but next week, there should be more stuff for me to cover. i really want my students to get better :D
since i cant go to homecoming, heres pics of me in the dress i wanted to wear.
I've been shopping for cars for the past month or so, and i had always had my heart set on a new vw jetta (or used whatever, as long as it had the new body style) and i had found a couple for like under $14000.
so i went to a dealership yesterday and test drove a 2007 jetta, and it wasn't too pleasant. my sister said she could feel every bump in the road, the interior was just average, but hey, i can't argue, as long as i get a car that has working air conditioning. it was pretty blah.so today, after taking my sister to get her braces off (YAY!) we stopped by a Saab dealership and test drove a sab 9-3 hatchback (they call it a "sportcombi") and it was fkn AMAAAZZIINNNGG!!!!!!!! it drives like a dream, its small but roomy, the interior design is ergonomic, simplistic and minimalistic. it was a nice charcoal grey/brown/black, some kind of mixture of that, leather interior, the works. i wanted to take it home! RIGHT THEN AND THERE! but it came at like a $30,000 price tag, not bad considering the quality and amount of stuff, but still pretty expensive.
so i'm crossing my fingers, and maybe, just maybe, i'll be lucky enough to find a lower priced used model of the saab :D:D:D
