happy chinese new year everyone!
i usually spend it at home with my family eating wonderful chinese food and dumplings (i make beautiful dumplings i must say :D).
but since i'm not home i compensated by
eating hot pot on the weekend
and making and eating these sticky rice ball things in red bean soup and sweet ginger soup.
yummy :D
it might not have been like previous years, but it was good to spend chinese new year night with fellow chinese people.
another day to remind myself how much i have and how grateful i am for it.

ok, i'm starting to get a little annoyed by how everyone is so enamoured with obama already, and he just took office. its not like i hate him, its just that i kind of need to see proof that he actually lives up to all the hype.
i mean seriously, people are treating him like he's this heavenly gift from god.
they performed an entire orchestra/choir performance on canada national tv just for him.
hopefully he does live up to all the high hopes the american people have for him, but expectations are so high, its just setting everyone up for failure and disillusionment.

call me a skeptic, but i like to see it before i believe it.

i forgot

that i'm in university.
and all the things that come with it.

its only been like 2 weeks since classes started, and i already have midterms in like the next couple of weeks.
on top of that, i am like lost in at least one of my classes, i have a shit load of work sitting and rotting on my computer, and i don't know where to begin.

the good thing though is that i'm keeping to my diet pretty well, although i have indulged in a couple of cookies and a few meals that consist of something more than a piece of meat and vegetables. kung fu is great. it prevents me from walking properly at times, but i think its helping me lean out.
well hopefully. i haven't checked a scale since i left the states, but i feel like a lot of the fat isn't there anymore.
hopefully i'm right and not just lying to myself.

and the guy i have a small crush on?
i really want to go and talk to him again, but we make eye contact like all the time and he doesn't say a word to me. so i'm getting the feeling that maybe he isn't interested.
man :(

uh oh, i just realized that i've been dating everything wrong today. like 3 days off bad :(
o well whatever.
now that i think about it, its kinda like i've been living in the past. all because i thought today was the 12th.
but its actually the 15th :/
alright whatever.

so first class today, pretty crazy :D
i have to plunk down about 80 bucks though for uniform and stuff though, but it looks good :D
hopefully i can learn a lot in the 3 months i have until i go back home for the summer :/

commute

so i went to visit the kung fu place today, i left at around 5 and came back at like 10:30.  its was about 2 hours commute for both ways, and the class was 2 hours. just watched basically, but i liked it.
the only thing thats making me hesitate is the whole commute deal, going downtown 2-3 times a week for it.
but then, i think if i don't do it, i'll regret it later. the is one of the only places that teaches white crane kung fu, the others being in toronto, new york and malaysia.
nuts.
stupid commute.

all the stuff i forgot about high school.
i saw taylor quinn's facebook profile picture, and its with this little baby. and then i was asking myself, "who's baby is it?"
and then i remember that rumor that was going around senior year that he got this girl pregnant and that he was going to keep the baby.
good for him, at least he's being responsible.
after being irresponsible.
better late than never.
but who am i to judge?
